This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

Template:PeopleYearbyCountry[edit]

I realized after making a change to Template:PeopleYearbyCountry that that template is probably highly used and should be protected. It has about a 6300 translucation count but it highly references a number of other templates. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 23:13, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:K4 matchings.svg[edit]

All edits since October 2020 to the description page and structured data of File:K4 matchings.svg (and some of the edits from even earlier) have consisted of a long string of vandalism by multiple not-logged-in editors and reversion of the vandalism. I have no idea why this somewhat obscure page would be the target of this behavior, but anyway, can this be semiprotected on a long-term basis (preferably indefinite), please? —David Eppstein (talk) 08:40, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done. Jdx semi-protected the file for a year. After the block expired, the vandalism continued. I do not want to protect the file indefinitely, so second protection lasts for 3 years. Also I cleaned file history. Taivo (talk) 11:52, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Flag of Honduras.svg[edit]

This is a file that replaced a former protected file of the Honduran flag wich had a wrong color. This one never got protected, as the rest of the flag files are. There is a controversy on the color of the flag, cause the law says it's turquoise but in practice the flag is represented in a dark shade of blue, wich is the reason of that color selection for the file, wich everyone accepted in Wikipedia. Now a user is trying to set a turquoise version, so I request the file is protected as the rest of the files of flags are. -Kes47 [REPORT AN ERROR] 08:54, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

IP users creating depicts claims[edit]

I was told to come here with the issue I'm dealing with. The problem I'm dealing with is IP users keep coming to the image I uploaded and are constantly creating depicts claims. The first set of claims had been removed, but there are more again. Nonsense map uploader[edit]

These three user uploads test-purpose fictional map with nonsense username. Although CU gives an inconclusive result, I still believe it is ok to block them as sockpuppet per DUCK. Stang★ 21:15, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. 99% per cent of the problematic edits are being done by one individual operating under the names Michaelbaruchpacheco, BarmanuIchael, and IP 131.161.54.5. This is no longer about the colour of the flag, it is simply about one user constantly mangling the same links and categories over, and over, and over again.
Full protection would probably be a good thing right now, but I don't think it needs to be permanent. MapGrid (talk) 00:52, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
