Create higher-resolution versions of the details of The Ambassadors by Holbein[edit]

Article(s): w:The Ambassadors (Holbein)

Request
These details of objects in the painting w:The Ambassadors (Holbein) are JPEGs cropped from a 30K pixel scan of the full painting; much higher resolution versions could be made by combining parts of the the nine tiled versions of the painting.
These images are extremely large and I don't know how to manipulate them myself. If possible the crops should be in PNG rather than JPEG so there is no quality loss from the tiles.
The ones linked in the request are just the images used in the English Wikipedia page; there are many more to fix in Category:Details of The Ambassadors (Holbein). Thanks! DemonDays64 (talk) 06:48, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Print damage on photos from 1980[edit]

There is some marked development or printing damage on the face of the second person on the left on the first image, and some similar print damage on the side of the face on the second. I fear I would be too liberal with the cloning brush there. Milliped (talk) 17:34, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Accurate colors request[edit]

Defense image retouching[edit]

Request
Need colour correction for these images. These images either have too much yellow or too much blue (can't tell) and do not match higher quality Defense Department portraits of the 1990s. In particular, the portrait of LTG Waller, from the Lewis Army Museum website, comes from a series of official Army portraits with disjointed colouring (see the bottom part). That portrait needs that colour disjoint removed as well, and should ideally be [this type of colouring]. SuperWIKI (talk) 05:02, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am the contributor. I apologize, I am new to Wiki and still learning how to go about everything. Yes, this image was removed and I am trying to get it undeleted. I thought that File:AleshJermarVELA.jpg still exists within Wiki but it appears that I need to upload it again. Would I upload it again through the Wikimedia Commons into this request itself? Wikimedia Permissions considers undeleting this file but questions the resolution. I hope that perhaps you may be able to help with improving the image resolution. Please, let me know how to proceed. Thank you. BlissfulBlueLotus (talk) 16:05, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You was told in Deletion Request linked here - Do not reupload unless you make/get permission, or you risk being blocked for repeated copyright violations. - Gabuxae (talk) 17:32, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. We have been working through the copyright issues with Wikimedia Commons Permissions. We thought that this Photo Lab may help us resolve the image clarity so that this document can be restored to the Wikipedia Page. Since I cannot reupload this image, are you able to access it from the deleted files yourselves? If not, how would I get this image to you? Please, let me know. BlissfulBlueLotus (talk) 18:39, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not admin, I can't access deleted files, and I'm not going to work on file which is not here yet. I believe resolution is questioned as evidence that this file is not really yours, so anthing I can do won't help. - Gabuxae (talk) 19:12, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up old newspaper cartoon[edit]

Article(s): en:Colonialism

Request
It would be helpful if anyone could clean up the horizontal slice across this cartoon, which is presumably the result of damage to the original newspaper (or, alternately, find another version of this image, since Satterfield's work was published in many papers, but I don't really know how one could go about doing that). If, while one is repairing the slice mark, one could also make the overall page somewhat... cleaner, that would also be good, thanks. DS (talk) 18:48, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For LtGen Geiger, colour correction to match earlier version of upload. For ADM Stump, removal of the signature where possible on the photo without compromising the background and where it nearly touches the face. --SuperWIKI (talk) 08:05, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Compare this specimen taken directly from the U.S. Dept. of Defense website, reflecting the 2021 redesign after the admission of the Chief of Space Operations into the JCS. The above SVG image is an altered SVG version of an earlier JCS badge with only two swords, but the alterations only amount to adding the third sword haphazardly, which isn't completely accurate. The gold crest inside the silver border needs to ever-so-slightly be rescaled and centred exactly to match, and the middle sword to cover the top silver circle. The area just above that circle needs to be slightly altered to match the new version. Whoever is skilled at SVG editing, assistance requested here.

Army colour corrections[edit]

Further grayscale colour corrections[edit]

Article(s): en:List of United States Army four-star generals

Request
Further colour corrections of these greyscale images, three of which have significant cases of yellowing. Where possible, a higher quality of Moore's portrait may be needed, but I couldn't find it. Bennett's torso may require very slight work for greater contrast from the background. Wyman's and Wainwright's need removal of flaws (Wyman's has a tear mark at the bottom) and removal of signature. Wainwright in particular needs extreme care with removal of signature, due to fabric details behind it. --SuperWIKI (talk) 01:58, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Army colour picture corrections[edit]

Request
Beach should be the last Army grayscale here to take care of. Zais' requires removal of the light glare on the top right corner of the image, Starry and Gorman (for Gorman, apply to cropped image as well) need colder, less yellow colour temperatures, and Mahaffey needs reduction of the exposure that is inadvertently casting a "white filter" of sorts over the image and corresponding colour correction. These images should serve as good reference for the colour temperatures that should be there. SuperWIKI (talk) 03:07, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Army colour photo fixes[edit]

Article(s): en:List of United States Army four-star generals

Request
All of these colour images need colour correction. Specific guidelines for eachː

– Salomonː Image requires colder colour temperature, white balancing, and where necessary, sharpening of details. Use this image of General Jimmy D. Ross as a reference.
– McCaffreyː Needs colour correction and white balancing, especially for the skin.
– Tilelliː Colour correction and white balancing (less of both needed this time), as well as removal of the minor flaws and filter that come from this being a print rather than fully digital picture.
– Byrnesː Removal of yellowing and white balancing.
– Dunwoodyː Richer colours and slight colour balancing to compensate for "rosy" light filter, identical image on this page is a step in the right direction. Another reference.
– Collinsː Found a higher-res image. Grayscale colour correction needed. SuperWIKI (talk) 03:57, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@PawełMM: Redness too strong (especially for skin) for McCaffrey and for Tilelli, too much blueness. Needs some toning down. Also, I apologize for being overbearing in some respects; I'm only trying to get images fixed as well as possible, since after my own attempts I haven't been able to get things right either. Sincerely, warm regards, and please take your time or tell me if I'm requesting too often. Been trying to keep it to once per day. SuperWIKI (talk) 10:50, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SuperWIKI: McCaffrey and Tilelli corrected. I also tried Byrnes, but that image is in gif format, which does not allow for smooth color adjustment. Therefore, the improvement result is poor. PawełMM (talk) 22:38, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Marine and Army colour corrections[edit]

Article(s): en:List of United States Army four-star generals, en:List of United States Marine Corps four-star generals, en:Commandant of the Marine Corps, en:Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps

Request
Various colour corrections and detail fixing. GEN Mildren requires removal of signature and picture flaws (no further colour correction needed); the notable ones I see are black marker lines (two to his left, one above his hair, one below his left coat lapel) and creases (one to the left of his neck and one at his right pocket). Gen Vandegrift requires removal of signature and grayscale colour correction. Gen McLennan and Kelley require colour correction and careful white balancing due to the distinct "pinkness" over their images, contrast from background should not be altered where possible. McLennan's colour corrections should be applied to the uncropped version (without removal of signature) and to the cropped version (with removal of signature). Kelley's "pinkness" is slightly less than McLennan's and likely needs less treatment than McLennan's. For both Kelley and McLennan, use these as reference. SuperWIKI (talk) 06:46, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PawełMM: Pocket lines where you deleted the signature for Vandegrift are now scuffed over. Restoration of those lines needed along with fabric detail where necessary. Very slight green hue for McLennan still present. If that can't be altered or fixed you can tell me that here. SuperWIKI (talk) 09:16, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
