Yes, content is king but other factors as you described in your post is very much essential things for making a high-quality website. Page load time, UX, low bounce rate, optimization all these really essential objects for a successful and high-quality website.

The length of the article does count. You can read here https://www.reliablesoft.net/seo-for-bloggers/ some case studies on post length and their affect in rankings.

In general, the longer the articles the better. That does not mean though that shorter articles will not be indexed or rank well.
